UFO Festival

We recently took a group to do outreach at the 4th Largest "UFO Festival" in the country.  It was in a neighboring town here.  We had a fantastic time. One young man gave his life to Christ, and I made some great contacts that hopefully will allow us to get a tent there next year to actually have a full time presence.  It was a mix of sincere UFO believers, "normal" every day people, and the occult.  What an opportunity to share the gospel.  I cant wait until next year when we have time to plan an actual 2 day outreach through Gospel Focus. It is going to be great.

Simple questions that lead people to Jesus

Set up a table, throw some tarrot cards, crystal balls, buddha statues, and the people show up!

A few local pastors joined with us which was great. Hoping to build on this for next year!

Outward Apologetics School Fall 2018

The above is a screen shot picture of the accepted students we have so far for my fall Outward Apologetics School.  I am super excited for this school, and ask you prayers as we hope to get more students for sure.  A real neat thing about this school is that we are having non YWAM ers who are in a "retired" stage of life take the school.  Looks like the school will also be culturally diverse as we have a Canadian, Indian, Russian, and possibly a Sudanese student...not to mention Americans. Please list this school up in prayer.  Here is a link to the school, and I would ask you to please have a look!  http://www.ywamsalem.org/outward-apologetics-school/. This will occupy 100 % of my time from September through December.  The great thing is that this school is so intertwined with Gospel Focus Ministries that in a way I do not have to lay down anything, but rather just figure out a way to run both at the same time.  Should be fun.

Moving Up in the World

I thought I would share a picture of our new hanging sign in front of our office.  A good friend and fellow YWAM'er made it for us.  I guess that makes us official. If your ever in Salem, and you see this sign, stop on in!

Was Jesus God?

This past month at The Toolbox we led a training time on the questions, "If Jesus was God, Why Didn't He Just Say So?"  It went real well, and it was great to see believers digging into God's word. These monthly training times have been such a rich time, getting to know people, equipping them, and then seeing them go and use the training in their every day life has been super encouraging.

All of our training times happen at our downtown office.

Spring is here

The family is doing well.  The above picture we took a couple weekends ago as we had a break in the weather and decided to go on a hike.  Aside from a few of the kids coming home with poison oak, the day went great. We ask your prayers for:

1. Continued health
2. Provision for Homeschool Curriculum ($2,000)
3. Wisdom as we raise kids!

Black, White, and Grey

This past month we started a new outreach called, "Black, White, and Grey".  The gentlemen above is a local pastor who happened to join us one afternoon.  This outreach uses this sign more as a draw to get people interested.  So far, it really has proven effective at fostering curiosity for sure.  The basic idea behind this outreach is taking certain issues, opinions, etc..and discussing what things are black and white to people, and other areas that may be a bit grey and fuzzy.  Great platform to springboard into amazing discussions about Jesus.
