Prayer Requests

I was recently reminded once again from one of our supporters about how little we make our prayer requests known. It has always been a weakness of mine.  We are truly blessed by the prayers and support we receive from you, and I will try and do better to at least once a month send out a prayer request blog entry.  We know you are praying for us, but as my friend challenged me, I need to get more specific.  So with that...here are some major prayer requests for our ministry and family.  I will try to limit each category to a few!

Ministry:
1. For the continued growth of the Gospel Guy Network and wisdom as we grow.
2. For the lost to come to Christ in our city
3. For our summer Mission Adventures teams, both here in Salem, nationally, and internationally
4. For students for my fall Outward Apologetics School which starts in September.  We need 6 students for the school to run.

Family:
1. Increased monthly support (the continual missionary prayer!:)
2. A new van.  We are praying for a brand new van.  Our present one is showing its age.
3. Wisdom to raise the kids

Summer is Coming

Summer is almost upon the Walter family here in Oregon!  Just thought I would post a recent picture of the kiddos as they are growing like weeds.  Aidan turned 11 and Abby turned 9 this month! Kids are looking forward to long summer days and no school.  Mom and Dad....not so much!

Gospel Guy Hits Two University Campuses

I am so excited that the Gospel Guy will soon be starting on two university campuses here!  Campus Ambassadors will be joining the Gospel Guy Network on the campuses of Chemeketa Univeristy and Lynn Benton Community college in Albany, OR.  The above picture is some of the Campus Ambassadors staff after we did some training with them.  Stay tuned to see what the Lord is going to do on these college campuses!

Exposing American Youth to the World Outside Their Own

We recently were asked to take 60 high school students from a local Christian school on one of our Temple tours.  We took them to the Sikh temple. It was the FIRST time in THEIR LIVES they had ever really been exposed to a different world view than a Christian one in many ways.  It truly was awesome.  The above picture is of them sitting on our massive world prayer map as we were briefing them on the day and praying for the Sikh's to come to know Christ some day. What a privaledge to be asked and entrusted with these students by the principle and staff of this school.  unfortunately, many of the kids were not allowed to come by their parents.  So sad to me.  How can we be a light to the world if we never enter the dark places?

200 Mission Adventures students in the forecast!

This past week we had a Mission Adventures group come out from southern Oregon.  They have come the past 3 years and we had a great week.  Along with equipping students to share the Gospel, they were able to see one young man give his life to Christ doing our door to door prayer outreach. I am real excited as it looks like we will finally hit 200 Mission Adventures participants here at YWAM Salem this summer!  It is going to be busy come the end of June with 5 weeks in a row of MA groups!!

Coffee Hour

This past month we had a great turn out for our monthly Youth Pastors Coffee Hour.  This continues to be an awesome time building bridges among churches in our city.  Each month a different youth pastor leads a discussion related to youth ministry. I love working with churches of all denominations and getting perspective from all sides.
