Crosswalk

Monday evening at Mission Adventures we do our Crosswalk outreach.  We take the students down to the center off our city, and they drag a wooden cross.  Each student drags it for about 5 minutes. It is amazingly stretching, challenging and powerful. Every single time we do this outreach, kids lives get changed.  Tonight, many high schoolers were brought to tears as they reflected on what Jesus did for us, and how the cross was a place of sacrifice, shame, and abandonment.  We stress that this outreach is for an audience of one....Jesus.  In the past, we have had people on the street join us, mock us, encourage us, question us, and simple observe us.  through it all, the students are brought to a new depth in their understanding of the cross, and Jesus love for them.  By the way, if your looking for a great book to read, check out the book "The Cross" written by Arthur Blessit. He has drug a wooden cross in every country in the world, and seen tons of people come to know Christ!
